RELAXING INCENTIVE TO SOUTHERN MORAVIA

One of our clients from the agriculture industry asked us to organize a short, relaxing incentive for its team of 45 people. The main aim of the incentive was to reward team members who achieved success over the last year. The client asked for a varied, but not too physically demanding, program.

We proposed a three day program in Moravia. The group was based in the beautifull city of Mikulov that lies in the heart of the Moravian wine region. The whole area is tourist attraction. Despite the small size of the region, it boasts a variety of many environments; the semi-arid limestone rocks of the Pálava Protected Landscape Area, the Nové Mlýny Reservoir (the perfect location for yachting and wind surfing), as well as the UNESCO-recognised Lednice-Valtice cultural landscape and the numerous vinyards.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1

Arrival in Prague, transfer by bus to Mikulov. After check-in, relax and freshen-up. In the evening, traditional dinner with folk music and dance.

DAY 2

A relaxed cycling trip with several stops en route. One guide accompanied the group on a bike, the other drove a car, acting as a technical support, and joined the group during the stops.

On this particular day the group visited:
  • Karst Cave at Na Turoldu on the outskirt of Mikulov - guided walk through the cave
  • Archery in the middle of the Pálava protected area
  • Outdoor Scrabble - outdoor team game on the banks of the reservoir
  • Lednice-Valtice area - treasure hunt - participants were looking for fragments of photographs showing them way to the evening venue – wine-tasting at a wine cellar

In the evening the group enjoyed wine tasting with dinner in wine cellar.

DAY 3

After breakfast, departure to Prague airport

TEAM BUILDING (ANIMATED MOVIE , THE CHOCOLATE CHALLENGE, DRUMMING)

Our client, (a prominent international marketing company), asked us to prepare a team building program for their sales department. The main aim was to enhance team co-operation and increase their loyalty within the company through work on a collective project. The team had already participated in many "typical" team building events – so this time they were looking for an original program.

We proposed a 3 day-long indoor creative program – which included the shooting of an animated movie, creating their own chocolate including the box, as well as a drumming session. We chose this topic because it perfectly matched the main goals of team building:

The whole team was divided into approximately 10 groups. Each of the groups was in charge of a short movie sequence – all the sequences were then assembled to form the film. Groups also had to co-operate with each other in order to assure the continuity of the storyline and sequences.

In the first stage of the program, we separated the participants according to their specialization: A group of directors worked on the script and general concept of the movie, a group of cameramen received detailed instructions how to work with the cameras, a group of production staff strived for continuity of the movie and a group of technicians worked on the sets.

After that, in the second stage, the entire crew came together again and started to work on the sequences. Each sequence was approximately 10 – 25 seconds long, the whole movie running for 3 minutes in total. To further strengthen the group's co-operation, we swapped the directors in the middle of shooting.

Another day was spent for creating their own chocolate. The whole team was again divided into approximately 10 groups.

Teams are given 90 minutes and all the necessary ingredients needed to create a new brand of chocolate. They simulated the complete business process from initial concept, through design, production, marketing and promotion of their chocolate.

During the process they were piping names on chef's hats (in chocolate of course), producing chocolate self-portraits and creating branded boxes of various delights! To acquire learning points, participants could develop marketing, packaging and strategic plans, as well as making a 30 second TV commercial. Each aspect was reviewed to identify parallels with day-to-day working life.

The last day was dedicated to a drumming session. It was perfect timing and set a good mood before final gala dinner.

Through an enjoyable mix of drumming and movement, participants learned how to maximise their energy and enthusiasm, deepen their concentration and practice techniques for staying centred and focused to create sustainable high performance. We all know that considerable, human potential and resources are wasted due to inefficient management. This is also true of our own energy on a daily basis, resulting in stress and poor health.
